Remembering our very own APJ Abdul Kalam Sir.


Bharat Ratna Dr.Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was born on 15th October 1931 in Rameshwaram in a fisherman family. His father was Jainulabdeen and mother is Ashiamma.

We’ve all heard of stories about this India’s best youth motivator like his childhood story with his Science Teacher and many more with with his Tamil Brahmin friends; etc

Our South Report dedicates this post as a homage to the “Greatest leader of all times”, with some of his best happenings.

Before becoming president of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam had been an Aerospace Engineer in DRDO and ISRO and served the country for 4 decades.

Sir APJ Abdul Kalam was famously known as Missile Man of India due to his contribution regarding the development of the ballistic missile and also launch vehicle technology.

In his tenure as President Dr.Abdul Kalam sir made Rashtrapati Bhavan a people’s place. He met people and students from around the country and inspired them with his inspiring thoughts. He is famously known as the People’s President.

His Alma mater was the prestigious St.Joseph’s College and Madras Institute of Technology in Chennai. He was a renowned Aerospace Scientist thereafter who contributed a lot for India.

Switzerland commemorate Mr.Kalam’s visit to their country as Science day.(May 26). His 79th Birthday was declared as World Student’s Day by United Nations.

When asked that if he would take up second term as President, he said he would go back to his favorite profession ” Teacher “. Dr. Kalam received his honorary doctorate from 40 recognized World-Wide Universities. After moving out of the Presidents Office, he gave lectures around the world on Science, India as a Super power, Education, Politics and a wide range of topics inspiring thousands of Minds igniting the fire in them.

Though he is not between us right now. He will stay in hearts of young India and we hope that all his teachings, preachings, writings will lighten up every young soul!

Our team mourns for his sudden demise.

He loved being student, being teacher and had his last breathe among students!
