Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Minister for Commercial Taxes and Cinematography, Govt of Telangana is actually a Telugu Desam Party MLA as per the latest RTI filed by the congress party ex MLA Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy.
Talasani won as a TDP MLA from Sanath Nagar assembly constituency in the 2014 elections, he later moved to Telangana Rastra Samithi and was made a Minister by KCR.
On announcing that he would be joining TRS, Talasani stated that he resigned for his MLA post, but the RTI’s reply from the Telangana Assembly’s office states that they never received the resignation letter from the MLA. In the recent MLC elections, he voted as a TDP MLA being a minister in TRS government.
This shows the failure of 3 major offices:
1. The Chief Minister’s office which took an opposition party’s MLA into their Cabinet while its not a coalition government between TRS and TDP.
2. The Governor’s office which has to look after the constitutional matters has not verified the membership of the minister during the oath taking nor acted on complaints from the oppositions on the minister.
3. The Speaker’s office which has not acted on the complaints of the opposition for months on suspending the MLA as per the Anti-Defection Law.
