PARENTS FIND MISSING DAUGHTER IN HUBLI WITH THE HELP OF SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media frenzy is gaining speed these days and it has been some kind of an addiction not just for the youth, but also for the older generations. However, this medium doesn’t just make a lot of people unproductive, it also contributes to a lot of good things and this incident in Karnataka proves it.

Puujitha, a 13-year-old girl from Hubli is studying Class 8 in a private school in Rajajinagar, Benngaluru. On account of her poor performance is mathematics, she could not face her parents and thus she decided to ran away from the house.

On Wednesday morning, she took off from the school bus in which she regularly travels and went missing. That very afternoon, her mother went to pick her up from school and found out that she had not attended the classes. Having inquired about this, the family members concluded that she went missing and they started looking for her in the houses of their relatives and friends, but in total vain. They searched and waited till late night and there was no trace of their daughter. And then they approached the Srirampura police and had registered a missing complaint.

Using social networking sites and media extensively to locate her, they found out that Puujitha ran away to Hubli because her teacher wanted a signature of her parents’ on the mark sheet and she could not face her parents with her poor performance. Being upset over it, she fled the city and the parents have started for Hubli to get her back.

However, this clearly shows the kind of mindset parents carry towards the academic performance of their children.
