The entire state of Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for the Krishna Pushkarams; scheduled to start on August 12. While a staggering number of pilgrims are expected to attend the 12 day event in the state, the government is doing a lot of things to ensure it goes on smoothly. The Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu recently told the press that the State Government is doing all preparations it can to add a lot of magnificence to the mega event. He also said that Vijayawada will be illuminated beautifully, food courts will be arranged on the apron downstream of Prakasam Barrage and Bhavani Island will be made up well during Pushkaralu.
The Pushkaralu last for 12 days and they occur once every 12 years. Starting on 12th August, the Pushkaralu are going to be inaugurated by Jayendra Saraswati and Vijayendra Saraswati, the holy seers from Kanchipuram.
There are also plans of starting cruises and watersports as added attractions in this period.
