The IT minister of Andhra Pradesh, Palle Raghunatha Reddy has invited the Oracle Corporation to set up its development center at Visakhapatnam.
Mr. Reddy interacted with the top management of the IT giant. Meeting with the group’s Vice-President Mark C Webster and the regional leader Joseph Shamsuddin, at the secretariat; he explained the IT, Industrial policies and e-Pragathi project of the State. The Oracle officials visited the state following the invitation of Dr. Reddy, during his recent visit to the corporation’s headquarters in USA.
The IT minister also informed them that the state government will extend its full co-opration to the company, wherever it wants to set up its center. He said the State government would extend its cooperation to the company wherever it wanted to set up its center.
Positively responding to the proposal of the State government, Mr. Mark C Webster said they would consider setting up the development centre at Visakhapatnam and take a decision soon.
With this, the IT turnover of the state is expected to reach Rs. 50,000 crore in the next two years.
