ISRO set a record last week by launching 20 satellites at once and this launch was done using the indigenously developed PSLV rocket. But what exactly is a PSLV rocket?

The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, commonly known by its abbreviation PSLV, is an expendable launch system indigenously developed and operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Before the development of this, India had to depend on Russia to launch satellites. PSLV was developed to launch its Indian Remote Sensing (IRS) satellites into Sun-synchronous orbits.
