The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) is all set to host the International Fleet Review 2016. In what is a first time for the ENC and the second for the Indian Navy; the International Fleet Review (IFR) will see Navies from over 60 countries; exhibiting their Naval Prowess and taking part in combined exercises.
With a ‘Make in India’ theme; this IFR focuses on the indigenous development of various naval armaments and the same will be exhibited at the IFR. As per the promotional video released by the Navy, the exhibition will showcase “Innovation, Indigenisation and potential of the youth of India”
The IFR will also strengthen international relationships; as Admiral RK Dhowan points out in the video below.
Around 7,000 security personnel are likely to be deployed by the state and central governments for the six day event; which will see the likes of the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee; the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, ESL Narasimhan and the Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu; in addition to several delegates from all over the world.
