We reported earlier that Andhra Pradesh will get a new secretariat in a record time of four months. Now, the government has announced that the foundation stone laying ceremony is going to be held on Feb 17, at 8.23 am.
The construction is scheduled to be completed in a record time of four months and the new Secretariat will start functioning from June this year.
Major offices of the AP government will be shifted to Amaravati from Hyderabad—the current common capital of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
According to sources in the government, the work has been divided into three packages of which two were bagged by L&T and one by Shapoorji. The temporary secretariat will come up on 45 acres at Velagapudi village with three building blocks having an aggregate built-up area of 6 lakh sq. ft.
