Prior to the elections, the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had promised 2-BHK houses for the economically backward classes. The KCR housing scheme was one of the major promises made by the CM.
“Whatever the cost it is my bounden duty to build these homes for you. It will take a couple of years but we will build these homes for the poor as everyone has the right to a proper home,” KCR had stated earlier.
“Nowhere in the country, or the world, is there such a scheme. I can proudly say that we are the number one welfare state,” emphasized KCR.
Erravelli village in Jadgdevpur mandal and Gajwel of Medak district were the first rural area where construction of the 2BHK houses began first. Orders for construction of 1500 such houses in Warangal and 2000 in Mahbubnagar were issued before but the project will take off from Erravelli village where the CM is keen to get the work grounded as soon as possible.
And now, the TRS party released pictures of the completed houses on their social media page. The houses, in Gajwel (KCR’s constituency) are about 570 sq.ft in area.
