Earlier this year, it was announced that the Tirupati Airport will start international operations by the end of June. While the interim terminal building was originally scheduled to be completed by October, the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has asked the contractors to finish it by August in time for the Krishna Pushkarams. The Runway is also being extended to allow bigger aircrafts like A320 to land.

These pictures prove that even tier-2 cities are on their way to becoming world-class cities.

With an airport like this at Tirupati, the aviation industry in the state will get a bigger boost and the growth rate will probably be in three digits next year. The growth in aviation industry in 2015-2016 was 59%.
