CBN at StartAP Fest: Every House should have an entrepreneur
The StartAP Fest 2016 was kicked off on Saturday morning by none other than the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The city of destiny, Vizag played host to the fest which saw over 50 startups and 1500 delegates from all over the country. While he couldn’t personally attend the fest, he addressed the 1500+ delegates via video call and spoke in his unique, charismatic style, stressing on the importance of innovation.
“Thinking out of the box is the key to innovation and innovation leads to success. We have had several significant achievements over the years only through innovative thinking. I wish to see more of this in the state and I want AP to become the global hub of entrepreneurship soon. Earlier, my vision was to have a computer in every house and now, my vision is to have an entrepreneur in every house in Andhra Pradesh. The government will extend its complete support towards achieving that goal,” said Nara Chandrababu Naidu, amidst loud cheers from the audience.
The Chief Ministers’ address was followed by power talks by several eminent people. Keeping in tune with CBN’s innovative style, some of the speakers gave their talks on the beach, mentoring the young entrepreneurs by the sea.
In addition to the power-talks, fifteen startups were shortlisted among 55 applicants to pitch their ideas before a panel of venture capital and angel investors today and tomorrow. Each one of them were given an opportunity to explain their plan to the investors and two Vizag based startups, LocalWire and Bead Music bagged the top two positions.
