In a move that will probably be welcomed by many across the country; the state-owned telecom company BSNL has launched an exciting internet package, which offers 20 GB of 3G data at Rs 50 and the data can be shared with four other BSNL users residing anywhere across the country.

This new scheme is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative and it is subsidized by the Government of India. It has created a buzz among the mobile data users, as most of the leading telecom service providers usually offer 1 GB of 3G data for Rs 200 of prepaid cost.

To avail the benefits of this scheme, the BSNL users need to log onto BSNL mobile safe care portal and need to fill their personal details. After that, they can add any four numbers with whom they wish to share the data.

With this scheme, BSNL is bound to see an increase in the number of users and the other leading telecom providers now face a tough competition.

After launching the service, BSNL General Manager Ram Shabd Yadav said that this scheme would be a benefit to the people from lower economic status, who can’t afford mobile internet services by paying heavy prices and it is part of government’s agenda to achieve a hundred percent internet access in the country.
