Andhra Pradesh government to install a 125 feet tall statue of Ambedkar in Amaravati
On 14th April, i.e. the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar; Nara Chandrababu Naidu paid his respects by garlanding the statue of Ambedkar located at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, Vijayawada. After this, Mr. Naidu then announced that the government of Andhra Pradesh will install a 125-foot tall statue of the father of Indian Constitution at Amaravati, the capital region of Andhra Pradesh.
It has been announced that the government is planning to install the towering statue along with a convention center, Buddhist meditation center and a library at Smritivanam in the capital region and it would be completed by April 14 next year. And later, Mr. Naidu unveiled the blueprints of that statue.
The government is also planning to generate awareness about Ambedkar’s ideologies through writings, sports meets, airing shows in TV channels and in documentaries.
Mr Naidu urged the people on social media to take a pledge on this occasion to follow the grand ideas of Ambedkar and strive to build a society free of inequalities.
