AP CM: THE STATE TOPS IN ATTRACTING INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENTS

With a steady stream of international investments flowing into the state, it is no wonder that it ranks no. 1 in the country. In 2015-2016, India received a total of Rs. 954 Billion in foreign investments; out of which, Andhra Pradesh received 15.8%. Gujarat comes second in the list at 14.5% and Maharashtra has the third spot with 10.9%.

Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, inspected the ongoing works at the temporary secretariat in Velagapudi on Thursday and made several announcements about the development of the state. “A Central Command and Control Room will be set up here and we will monitor and handle any issue from here,” he said and added “These works will be completed in 20 days and we will start working from here from Dasara.”

Asserting on how his government now plans on reducing drought in the state by building water harvesting structures and linking rivers, he reassured that the Polavaram Project will be completed by 2018. “We are using heavy, modern machinery for excavating the 6.24 cubic meters of soil for this project and it will be done in record time,” Mr. Naidu explained.
