In a recent release by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s social media page, the state registered a growth in several sectors in the last one year; with Aviation and Industrial growth being the key factors.

As per Telugu Desam Party’s Facebook Page, Airports in the state register a massive 59 per cent growth in the last one year. With a convenient climate for business and friendly government, the state has attracted hordes of investors and tourists, many of who have flown to major cities. Due to this reason, airports in Andhra Pradesh have seen a massive traffic growth of 59 per cent in 2015-16 compared to the national average of 17 per cent. Vizag stood first in terms of number of passengers followed by Vijayawada and Tirupati while Rajahmundry stood fourth.

Increase in air traffic and number of passengers travelling is assumed to have a direct correlation with economic boom and increase in business opportunities. Andhra Pradesh is indeed taking the flight to growth.

And with major investments planned in various districts; there are many plans to expand the aviation industry in the state; with several new airports and aviation academies being planned. Andhra Pradesh government will soon set up an aviation academy at Puttaparti in Anantapuram district with the help of the centre. The academy would come up on a 150-acre site in the next three months.

CBN met several aero industrialists and manufacturers at the recent India Aviation Expo held in Hyderabad and explained the opportunities to develop aviation industry in Andhra Pradesh. With plans to develop Greenfield international airport at Bhogapuram near Visakhapatnam, and set up aerospace and defence manufacturing units in Anantapuramu district, the government will also develop 5 regional airports at Kuppam, Dagadarthi, Donakonda, Orvakallu and Nagarjuna Sagar.

With Aviation on one side; as per another release by the party, Krishna district has attracted a massive Rs.7700.71 crores worth investments in the last 21 months creating direct jobs for 4920 people and indirect jobs to thousands of others.

With this pace, Andhra Pradesh is on its steady way to become the hub of industry and aviation in our country!
